The First-Of-Its-Kind Animated Spider-Man Feature Scheduled For Production 2018



On July 20, 2018, Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, the directors of The Lego Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and 21 and 22 Jump Street, are taking Spider-Man back to his graphic roots with the first-of-its-kind animated Spider-Man feature, it was announced today at CinemaCon by Tom Rothman, chairman of the Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group. The film will exist independently of the projects in the live-action Spider-Man universe, all of which are continuing.

Lord & Miller are masterminding the project, writing the treatment and producing the film.

Toy Fair 2017: Dark Horse Deluxe Expands ''The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt'' Figures

Dark Horse's ''The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt'' deluxe figure collection will includes the new characters of Geralt of Rivia, Dandelion, and Shani.

Geralt is battle ready in Grandmaster Ursine armor, which provides him immense protection from melee attacks. The bard Dandelion is Geralt’s close friend. Shani, Geralt’s friend and love interest, is the medic from Hearts of Stone expansion to The Witcher 3.


Each figure is exquisitely detailed and modeled to match the character’s likeness. They are each intricate in costume details, custom painted, and displayed in deluxe window packaging. The suggested retail price is $34.99. Geralt, Dandelion, and Shani are slated for release in September 2017.

Bodi, a wide-eyed Tibetan Mastiff, is expected to become the next village guard to a group of fun-loving, country-side sheep, but fears he doesn’t have the passion to assume the role from his dad, Khampa. The team who brought you Despicable Me and the biggest animated hits of 2013 and 2015, Despicable Me 2 and Minions, returns to continue the adventures of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughters—Margo, Edith and Agnes—and the Minions. Despicable Me 3, directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, co-directed by Eric Guillon, and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio, will be released in theaters on June 30, 2017.

The animated film is produced by Illumination’s Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy, and executive produced by Chris Renaud.

Joining Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig in Despicable Me 3 is Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award winner Trey Parker, co-creator of Comedy Central’s global phenomenon South Park and the Broadway smash The Book of Mormon. Parker voices the role of villain Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who’s grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the ‘80s, and proves to be Gru’s most formidable nemesis to date.

Centers around an arrogant, dark, sarcastic and just "too-cool" Batman.

On October 2014, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that, due to the popularity of Batman from The LEGO Movie, the character will get his own spin-off film. According to the report, Warner Bros. was targeting a 2017 release date for the spin-off, pushing the sequel to The LEGO Movie back to a later date. Arnett is set to reprise his role of Batman, while McKay, who was earlier attached to the sequel, will direct the film, which is being written by Seth Grahame-Smith, and produced by Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Lord and Miller. A few days later, Warner Bros. scheduled The LEGO Batman Movie for May 2017, and The LEGO Movie 2 for 2018. On October 25, 2014, it was reported that Phil Lord and Chris Miller had signed to write The LEGO Movie sequel.
