‘Wonder Man’ Is Coming To Life in A Brand New Marvel Series
We here at Widescreen Comic Review don't profess any great knowledge of the vast number of characters in the Marvel-verse, so the discovery that Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest have plans in the works to create a live-action series for a little known character named ‘Wonder Man’ is a wonder to us. In fact, we said, “Wonder … Who?”
Here is the probable answer. In 1978 and according to the late Stan Lee, "You know, years ago we brought out ‘Wonder Man’, and DC Comics sued us because they had ‘Wonder Woman’, and... I said okay, I'll discontinue ‘Wonder Man’.
So that’s it. Buried but apparently not forgotten, ‘Wonder Man’ has been around since 1964. His real name is Simon Williams and he is a villain turned hero. He has prior ties with Tony Stark in the munitions business to which Stark was his main competition.
